Folks on the Island is presented by:
Located at the head of Wall Street, Trinity Church has been part of New York City's and our nation's history since its charter in 1697. Today, the Episcopal parish is collectively known as Trinity Wall Street offering daily worship services and faith formation programs at Trinity Church, St. Paul's Chapel, and online at trinitywallstreet.org; more than 100 concerts each year, and grants to 85 countries totaling more than $72 million dollars since 1972.
Now in its third year, Folks on the Island concerts on Governors Island have included folk legends Odetta, Janis Ian, Richie Havens, Tom Chapin, and more. Folks on the Island is presented in partnership with the Governors Island Alliance.
Governors Island Alliance
Since 1995, the members of the Governors Island Alliance civic coalition, led by Regional Plan Association, have worked collaboratively to celebrate the Island's rich history, create memorable parks and public spaces, and ensure appropriate reuse of the Island and its historic structures.

The Governors Island Preservation and Education Corporation (GIPEC) is responsible for the planning, redevelopment, and ongoing operations for 150 acres of Governors Island. A partnership of New York City and New York State, GIPEC seeks to bring Governors Island back to life, making this island at the center of New York Harbor a destination with great public open space, as well as future education, not for profit and commercial facilities.
